About this place
Lesser-known cascade in the Dedugala hills of the Kegalle backcountry with shallow bathing pools. Go on weekdays with snacks and water, and leave before dusk since the estate roads have no lighting.
Visitor brief
Good to know before you go
- Off-beat site with no ticket office, lifeguards or shops - bring snacks, water and swim gear; leave before dusk (unlit estate roads).
- Weekday visits are quietest; shallow bathing pools but rocks are slippery - test depth and current first.
- Mobile signal is patchy - download offline maps and tell your driver/accommodation your plan.
- Monsoon spate (May-June, Oct-Nov) makes the chutes powerful - view from the bank, do not enter the water.
How to travel there
Remote: from Kegalle via Bulathkohupitiya toward Dedugala/Dolosbage roads (~1 hr+); only by tuk-tuk or private car - no public transport to the falls.
